Volunteering for Sport in Action Ltd

Sport in Action’s mantra is very much ‘value for money.’ We aim to provide quality and affordable events but still with a big race feel. In order to do so we rely on volunteers to help with various roles.

If you would like to get involved and help out please drop us a line. We don’t expect you to do it for nothing though, as well has having a good day out and watching some exciting racing, below is an overview of what you can expect in return for helping out at our events in 2018 & 2019

3 Village 10 from Wetheral Village Community Hall on Sunday April 8th 2018 – We need 12 people between about 10:30 to 13:00. For offering your services as a volunteer we will be happy to offer you a free place in any road race in 2018/19 or cash to cover expenses.

Carlisle City Urban Trail from Carlisle City Centre on Wednesday May 16th 2018 – We need 12 people between about 18:30 and 20:30. For offering your services as a volunteer we will be happy to offer you a free place in any road race in 2018/19 or cash to cover expenses.

AW Jenkinson’s Ullswater Triathlon Festival held at Pooley Bridge on Saturday July 14th 2018, the festival will include 2 races, The A.W.Jenkinson Ullswater Sprint Distance Triathlon & The A.W.Jenkinson Ullswater Standard Distance Triathlon. We need quite a few marshals for these events. In return for marshals that are prepared to stay for the full event, you will be fed and watered and offered a free entry into the Ullswater Sprint or Standard distance races in 2018 or £25 cash to cover expenses.

Great Dun Fell Cycle Sportive from Appleby on Sunday July 22nd 2018 – You would be needed between about 08:30 and about 14:30. We will feed you and provide a free entry to the 2019 event or any 2 road races held in 2018/19 or cash to cover expenses.

Sport in Action 10K – From Bitts Park on Sunday August 26th 2018. For offering your services as a volunteer we will be happy to offer you a free place in any road race in 2019 or cash to cover expenses.

Carlisle Resolution 5K & 10K – From Carlisle Race Course Sunday January 20th 2019. For offering your services as a volunteer we will be happy to offer you a free place in any road race in 2019 or cash to cover expenses.

Marshals details will be kept on file and they will be offered the chance to marshal events before we advertise elsewhere
